Genevieve Flannery OXFORD Genevieve M. Flannery, 82, of Oxford, died early this morning at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St Mary's Church, Oxford, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Oxford Chapel where friends may call after 9 a.m. Sunday. She was born July 28, 1894, in Oxford, to James and Susanna Burns Flannery. She attended Oxford schools and Iowa State Teachers College and taught rural Oxford schools prior to retirement -she was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and DCW. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Donald (Marita) McGurk and James Flannery, both of Iowa City, Mrs. Joe (Helen) Halsch of Oxford, and Mrs. Donald (Carmelita) Blackman of Des Moines. Two sisters and a brother died earlier.
