Theme of the event will be "Gifts of PEO." Irving Weber will give a slide presentation on Iowa City's PEO founders. Christian Women's Club plans meeting "Queen of Hearts" will be the theme of the luncheon of the Christian Women's Club at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Carousel Inn. Guest speaker will be Muriel Owen of Cedar Rapids, whose topic will be "You Can Get There from Here." Owen has counselled women of all ages. She is an artist, a wife and mother of two teenagers. Billie McLachlen will give the special feature, "Creating Silk Flowers." Special music will be provided by Dianne Shaw of the University of Northern Iowa, a soprano soloist.

Reservations and cancellations are due by noon Monday with Nila Kelso. A nursery will be provided by appointment only with Mrs. Charles Freyermuth or Hazel Crow. The event is open to all interested women. Financial planning workshop set A workshop on financial planning for women will be held Feb.

17 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 124 at West High School. The workshop is sponsored by Kirkwood Community College. Subjects covered will include using money to make money, budgeting, the question of saving money during inflationary periods and investment on a small salary. Instructor will be Barbara Wing, former adult education staff member at Kirkwood and an insurance agent specializing in life and health coverage.

Interested persons may enroll by calling the Kirkwood Community Education Center. Octagon Barn Chapter of Questers will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Barbara Bronemann, 132 Westminster St. The program on R.S. Prussia china will be given by Miriam Troyer.

Roll call will be answered with campaign buttons. Preschool University Preschool Parents' Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the school, 212 Myrtle Ave. New officers will be introduced. The meeting is open to all interested parents.

Workshop on drinking "Reflections in a Glass," a threehour evening workshop on drinking and its effects on personal relationships, will be offered Tuesday at the Kirkwood Community Education Center, 1816 Lower Muscatine Road. The workshop will explore attitudes and values, signals of problem drinking, escape mechanisms and ways in which stress develops when drinking becomes a concern or an issue.
