In Washington, 6 inches of new snow fell during the morning at Spokane with 4 to 5 inches over much of the northeastern part of the state. Other reports included 7 inches near Lake Wenas, 6 to 8 inches at Satus Pass, and 5 inches at Wenatchee, the National Weather Service said.

Four to 6 inches of snow fell overnight and during the morning across northern Idaho. Heavy snow hit parts of northern California, with rain at lower elevations. More than an inch of rain had fallen in 24 hours at DEATHS Allen Bruns, 32 Allen D. Bruns, 32, Washington, D.C., died of carbon monoxide poisoning Saturday at his mother's home in Arbela, Mo. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, Milton, with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. The Revs. Richard Wilson and Mel Meineke will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Memphis (Mo.) Funeral Home.

A general memorial was established. Mr. Bruns was born Nov. 29, 1960, at Cedar Rapids, to LaVerne and Sharon L. (Baughman) Bruns.

He graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School and University of Iowa School of Law. He was a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. He was a member of American Bar Association; Iowa, Nebraska and Washington, D.C. bars and UI Alumni.

He was a member of the Lutheran church. Survivors include one sister, Joni Lloyd of Roswell, one stepsister, Cheryl Meineke of Mission, one brother, Wes of Cedar Rapids; one stepbrother, James Alan Augspurger of Dallas, Texas; grandmothers, Margaret Bruns of Denver and Florence Baughman; and stepgrandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Augspurger of Pulaski. His father, mother, grandfathers, one brother and stepfather died earlier.

Ronald Sandhagen Ronald L. Sandhagen, 40, Lamont, died Thursday in Des Moines. Services were Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dundy. Burial was in Strawberry Point Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Chad, and one daughter, Shona, both of London, England; his parents, Virgil and Faith Sandhagen of Lamont; one siters, Rita Sandhagen of Iowa City; and two brothers, Ray of Humboldt and Rick of Independence. 3, 1977 in Tipton. She died in 1985. He was a salesman for Farm Service, until retiring in 1979. He lived in Mesa, before moving to Joplin. He was a member of Tipton United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Tipton Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy Whisenand, Tampa, one son, William of Joplin; two brothers, Donald of West Branch and Wilfred of West Liberty; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a homemaker. She married DeWaine Slade Sept. 15, 1930, in Iowa City. She was a member of Oxford and Tiffin United Methodist churches and Oxford Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include three daughters, LaVerne (Mrs.

Robert) Aubrecht of Iowa City, Reta (Mrs. Bill) Bream of Oxford and Donna Jean (Mrs. Darren) Dietrich of Cedar Rapids; one son, Vernon D. of Oxford; 13 24 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Max Oakes of Windsor, Mo. Her husband, parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandson died earlier.

DEATHS ELSEWHERE F. Bruce Lamb SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) F. Bruce Lamb, a forestry expert who wrote books about native healers of the Amazon, died Thursday of heart disease. He was 79.

Lamb wrote the 1971 book Wizard of the Upper Amazon with Manual Cordova-Rios, a healer trained by the shamanic chief of a tribe in the Amazon. Lamb's next book, Rio Tigre, continued Cordova's story. Lamb, who held a doctorate in tropical forestry, spent much of his career working for U.S. timber interests in Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Nikita Magaloff VEVEY, Switzerland (AP) Nikita Magaloff, a Russian-born pianist known for his interpretations of Chopin, died Saturday.

He was 80. Born in St. Petersburg in 1912, Magaloff fled the Soviet Union in 1919 and went to Paris. He won his first prize at the Paris Conservatory at 17. Magaloff made his American debut as a soloist in San Francisco in 1947 and played for the last time in the United States with the New York Philharmonic in 1985.
