Erwin "Brandy" Brandstatter, 75, of 906 20th Coralville, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 1994, at Mercy Hospital after a long illness. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at George L. Gay Funeral Home with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Military graveside services will be performed by the Walter Johnson American Legion Post No. 521. The Rev. John McKinstry will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m.

Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Coralville Historical Fund or First Christian Church. Mr. Brandstatter was born March 22, 1919, in Iowa City to Joseph A. and Genevieve (Nagle) Brandstatter.

He attended Coralville Elementary School and graduated from University High School in 1936. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in the 601st Ordinance Battalion for four years during World War II. He served in both Africa and Europe. He married Mary Belle Green June 16, 1946, in Nashua.

He worked at Great Lakes Pipeline Co. He was a longtime area salesman, owning and operating Brandy's Vacuum in Coralville. He retired in 1982. He was a charter member of Walter Johnson American Legion Post No. 521 in Coralville and Coralville Optimist Club.

He was a lifetime member of First Christian Church, Iowa City. Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Rex and Michele of Coralville, and Rox and Pam of Cedar Rapids; two sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Adrian Rittenmeyer of Iowa City and Joyce and Raymond Fountain of Hiawatha; and two grandchildren. 20, 1994, at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church, rural Wellman. The Revs. Elmer Miller and David L.

Yoder will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home, Kalona. Memorial donations may be made to Pleas-antview Home, Kalona. The body has been donated to the University of Iowa.

Miss Bender was born Aug. 10, 1907, near Wellman to Christian R. and Elizabeth (Guengerich) Bender. She attended rural Hickory Grove School. She worked at University Hospitals for 16 years in the central lab.

She lived in the Wellman and Kalona area all her life. She was a member of Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church. Survivors include two sisters, Fannie Bender and Barbara Hershberger, both of Kalona; one sister-in-law, Mary Bender of Kalona; 15 nieces; and 13 nephews. Two brothers, Daniel and Edwin; three sisters, Mary Swart-zehdruber, Lydia Miller and Nettie Miller; one niece and three nephews died earlier. Glenn Dennler, 66 R.

Glenn Dennler, 66, of Williamsburg died of cancer Wednesday, Oct. 19, 1994, at his home. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Williamsburg, and at 3 p.m.

Saturday at Illyria Church, Elgin. Burial will be in Illyria Cemetery. The Revs. Carol Kress and Judy Deweber will officate. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m.

4, 1928, in Elgin to Ben and Louise (Muehlenthaler) Dennler. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1946. He entered the military in 1953 and served in the Korean War for one. and a half years. He lived in Des Moines upon his return.

He then lived 13 years in Polk City and worked for Polk County. He moved to Williamsburg in 1972. There he was assistant manager for Swift Farm for 10 years until its closure. He worked for Chipman Feed and Grain until his retirement in 1988. He raised, trained and showed quarter horses most of his life.

He helped 4-H members for several years. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Williamsburg Saddle Club and VFW. He was a director at Camp Sunnyside, Des Moines. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son and his wife, Thomas and Cheri of Fairbank; three daughters, Crystal and her husband, William, Radnich of Des Moines, Cheri and her husband, J.W., Carton of An-keny, and Sandra Schrader of Waterloo; one brother, Albert L.

and his wife, lone, of Elgin; and one sister, Rose and her husband, Harry, Butikofer of Elgin; 13 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. His parents; one brother, William; and one son, Larry, died earlier. Lone Tree man sues after argument By Steve Smith The Press-Citizen A Lone Tree business owner is suing a fellow businessman for negligence, assault and battery over a series of events that occurred last month. Doug Wieland filed a civil lawsuit in Johnson County District Court on Thursday, records show. Wieland claims an employee of Dennis O.

Nicola was negligent when demolishing a building at 111 West Commercial Lone Tree, that shared a common wall with his business. According to the lawsuit, the demolition of the neighboring building caused damage to Wiel-and's business. The next day, Nicola threatened to hit Wieland with a brick and also made "insulting and offensive" bodily contact with Wieland. Dubuque St. John T. Koch, 44, 580 Foster Road, No. 6, was charged at 7:47 p.m. Thursday with fifth-degree theft, records show.

Various locations. A total of 22 people were charged between 9:55 p.m. Thursday and 1:05 a.m. today for possession of alcohol under the legal age, records show. $65, 16-gallon keg of beer was reported taken from a person's residence at 8:10 p.m.

The Iowa City Police Department reported "at 6:30 a.m. Thursday that they had a fully marked, fully loaded squad car stolen from the police department sometime the night before, records show. Police say an officer parked tjje cruiser in front of Civic Center around 6 a.m.

Telander, 22, of Princeville, 111., was charged with drunken driving Wednesday at Melrose and Grand avenues by the Iowa City Police Department, records show.

Telander was stopped for irregular driving and was charged with drunken driving after failing a field sobriety test, records show. Bond was set at $650. Telander was ordered to undergo substance abuse evaluation. Nicole C. Pagels, 19, of Cedar Rapids was charged Tuesday with drunken driving in the Hardee's parking lot in Coralville by the Johnson County Sheriffs Office, records show.

According to court records, officers investigated after hearing three females screaming. A vehicle was going through the Hardee's drive-up window and pulling forward in a reckless manner. The officers then observed one of the females in the car taking pictures of another passenger, who was taking her clothes off. Pagels was then charged with drunken driving, records show. She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to undergo substance abuse evaluation, records show.

Possession David D. Alberhasky, 23, of 702 Carriage Hill was charged with possession of marijuana Tuesday at First Avenue and Highway 6 in Coralville, records show. Alberhasky was a passenger In a vehicle stopped by officers, records show. Bond was set at $1,000. I Theft Bradley Kane McDannald, 21, was arrested on a warrant arid, charged with two counts of forgery and one count of seconfl-degree theft Tuesday by the CoJ-alville Police Department and the Iowa City Police Departmen, records show.

The theft charges stem fromja Monday incident involving the WI Credit Union, records show. On Monday, McDannald reportedly opened a savings account at the credit union with a $7,400 check written on an Iowa State Bank and Trust checking account owned by Iowa Management Systems. Later in the day, 6e withdrew all but $5 of the $7,406. Iowa Management Systems later reported the check had been stolen. McDannald's bond was set it $15,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 28. St. The forum will review each candidate's stance on issues of concern to people with disabilities.

People are encouraged to drop by and meet the senator and discuss issues. Dvorsky is running for re-election in Senate District 25, which includes Coralville, northern Iowa City, Mount Vernon, North Liberty, Oxford, Swisher. Shuey-ville, Solon and Tiffin. The election is Nov. 8.

Dvorsky has named Nancy Seiberling and Coralville Mayor Al Axeen as co-chairmen of the Committee to Elect Dvorsky. Honorary co-chairmen are Dvorsky 's wife, Sue, daughters Annie and Caroline, and parents, Ernie and Naomi. Keith Jones is the treasurer. Advisors are former Coralville Mayor Michael Kattchee, former State Sen. Rich Varn and State Rep.

David Osterberg. Kidwell meeting set for Tuesday John and Maralee Dyson will have a neighborhood meeting with Bill Kidwell, candidate for House District 46, at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Kidwell will be at 837 Kirk-wood Ave. Kidwell is a former Iowa State Patrol officer and a retired Iowa City Police Detective.

Local briefs Center offers voter registration, services The Centers for Independent Living will offer voter registration for people with disabilities during regular business hours through Oct. 29. Registration, offered 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, will be accessible to those in wheelchairs.

The center is at 26 E. Market St. Workers at the center will read forms to visually impaired people. Tactile forms will not be available. People will be available to sign to those with hearing impairment if the center is notified in advance.

The center will also have a legislative forum Thursday at Capitol House, 320 S. Dubuque.
