Miss Repeats Vows Becomes Bride of Paul E. In Church Service Miss Esther Pederson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pederson, route No. 6, and Paul E.

Bulechek, son of Mrs. Anton Bulechek, route No. 5, exchanged nuptial vows at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Methodist church. Dr. L.

L. Dunnington performed the single ring ceremony. Nuptial music was provided! by Mrs. E. W.

Scheldrup, church organist, who played the traditional wedding marches. Marquisette Gown Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white marquisette gown designed with a square neckline and long full sleeves capped with lace. Her fingertip veil was caught in place by a flower tiara, and she wore a gold locket as her only jewelry. Her arm bouquet was of yellow roses. Miss Mary Crowley of West Liberty, who served as maid of honor, was attired In a pink satin gown fashioned with short puffed sleeves and a square neckline.

Her veil was of matching pink net and her flowers were pink carnations. Mr. Ray Olsen of near Iowa City was best man, with Mr. Lawrence Bulechek, a brother of the bridegroom, serving as usher. Wedding Dance Following the wedding dance tonight in the C.

S. A. hall, the couple will leave for a brief trip. For going-away, the bride will wear a brown wool suit with tan accessories. Both Mr.

and Mrs. Bulechek attended University high school. For the last year and a half bride has been employed by the Economy Advertising company. After February 26, the couple will be at home on a farm northeast of Iowa City. Two Girls Initiated In Graham Crackers 4-H Group Saturday Marjorie Gardner and Cora Fagan were formally initiated into the Graham Crackers 4-H club at a meeting Saturday at the home of Esther Hemingway.

"The Ceremonial Song" was played during the processional, and the officers explained the four H's and gave the purpose of club work. Phyllis Thurness and Bobby Phelps gave a demonstration on dyeing, and talks were given by Patty Rinda, Clara Jean Kadera and Eunice Lacina. A skit was presented by Patty Rinda, Bobby Phelps and Cora Fagan. Marjorie Gardner recited "the Country Girl's Creed." Society--Clubs Couple Observe Golden Wedding Press-Citizen Photo MR. AND MRS.

February 20 marked the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Menel, route No. 2. The couple were married February 20, 1895, in Cedar Rapids.

All of their married life, except for two years when they lived in Cedar Rapids, have been passed in Johnson county, in and around Iowa City. A retired carpenter, Mr. Mencl will be 78 years old April 3. His wife, the former Josephine Kadleo of North Liberty, was 66 years of age November 11. They are the parents of six children, two of whom are living.

They are Mrs. Henry Wood, route No. 2, and Mrs. Clarence Ruppert, 225 Iowa avenue. The deceased are George and Pearl, who died in infancy; Joseph, who was killed in a fall from the city hall in 1931.

and William Mencl, who was killed 1 in a car accident in 1932. and Mrs. Emmett Meade of Solon. Private Barnes is home on a 12-day furlough from Camp Wolters, Texas. Those present at the dinner were Evelyn Jedlicsky, Verlee Buline, Luella Meade, Phyllis Meade, Maxine Meade, Warren Murphy, Jack Lovetinsky, Wayne Kennedy, Jim Campion, Mickey Meade, the honoree and the host and hostess. The ceremony took place February 3 at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Ogden, Utah, with the Rev. Mark Benvegnu officiating at the nuptial mass and single ring service. The bride, the daughter of Mr. Roger F.

Morrissey of Winterset, was attired in a two-piece wool suit of gold tweed with matching hat and brown accessories. Her corsage was of orchids. Misa Beverly Evans of Ogden served as bridesmaid, with Corp. Filmore Frasch of Remsen a as best man. Mrs.

Masson attended the Winterset schools and is a 1942 graduate of the University of Iowa, Sergeant Masson was graduated from Worcester Academy and Wesleyan university, where he was affiliated with Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Following a short brief wedding trip to Alta winter resort near Salt Lake City, they will make their home in Ogden. Vada Cox Married To Robert Colony Saturday Afternoon Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Vada Cox of Iowa City and Mr. Robert Colony of Tiffin. The single ring ceremony took place at 2 p.

m. Saturday at the home of the bride's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hoskinson, Muscatine avenue, and in the presence of a few relatives and friends. The bride was attired in a gold flannel dress with a corsage of lavendar sweetpeas.

Her only jewelry was a locket, a gift of the bridegroom. Mrs. Leon Reynolds attended her sister as bridesmaid. She wore a gold rayon crepe dress with a lavendar sweetpea corsage. Mr.

Robert Shaffer of Tiffin served as best. man. The couple will reside at 526 North Governor street. Junior Class Style Show Will Be Held At City High School The style show and card party to be held March 5 under the sponsorship of the junior class of the Iowa City high school will take place at the high school, instead of at Yetter's store as previously reported to the Press-Citizen. The project is being sponsored as a means of raising funds for the annual juniorsenior party.

Drama Department Will Hear Program Of Music, Poetry A program of patriotic music and poetry will be presented at a meeting of the drama department of the Iowa City Woman's club at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Community building clubrooms. Arranged by Mrs. M. M. Crayne, the program will feature a solo by Mrs.

Byron Coglan, accompanied by Mrs. G. W. Buxton; poems of Washington by Mrs. Oscar Nybakken; poems and stories of Lincoln by Mrs.

Raymond Memler, and other patriotic poems by Helen Gower and Carol Martin. Barte Schuchert, boy soprano, will sing a group of modern patriotic songs accompanied by Mrs. Oscar A. Stimmel, and the woman's chorus will sing Stephen Foster songs, "Dear Land of Home by Sibelus, and "Our Flag," by O'Hara. Both of these sound mighty good. First she tells of a way to prepare cooked carrots. She says, "The fact is, I didn't know carrots could be cooked any other way when I was a girl, as that is the way my mother always fixed them.

Cooked Carrots by After cleaning the carrots, slice them paper thin, (She uses her slaw cutter, she says.) Cook in any kind of meat broth until tender, having the liquid cover the vegetable. Soak 1 envelope gelatin in cup water Pour hot mixture over softened gelatin and stir until thoroughly dissolved. Set aside to chill, When partly thickened, add 2 stiffly beaten egg whites 1 cup whipped cream (could use evaporated milk, chilled, lacking real cream) Mix all together and pour into a graham cracker crust. Mix 3 tablespoons melted butter 3 tablespoons sugar Crumbs of 12 graham crackers Line a pan with half of this mixture. Pour the custard fluff into this crust. Top with the remaining crumbs.

Let stand in a cold place for several hours to set, when it may be easily sliced and removed to serving plates.
