Special tribute was paid by club members to Mrs. Homer Johnson who has been a member of the group for almost 50 years. She was the first new member taken into the club after its organization.

A feature of the anniversary meeting today was a talk on the history of the club by Mrs. Johnson. In Iowa City for the occasion was Mrs. O. H.

Carpenter, a former club member who now lives in New York City. Following her talk, Mrs. Johnson was honored at a tea, planned by Mrs Guthrie, Mrs. C. Woody Thompson and Mrs.

S. Lysle Duncan. The tea table was decorated in white and gold, with a centerpiece of fall flowers in shades of gold, and a tiered birthday cake ornamented with white and gold. Officers of the club are Mrs. i l' with the Leibs, here, while she taught Spanish in the University of Iowa.

She received her master's degree in June and now ia teaching at the University of Wisconsin. Her home is In Mexico City, and her husband'a family lives in Madison. Mrs. Katherine Ruppert, Robert and Richard Ruppert, 1729 North Dodge street, and Mrs. Eugerte Ho-gan, 603 West Benton street, are back in Iowa City after a visit in the west.

They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Obenchain in Denver, and of Mr.

and Mrs. Herman Ruppert in Richland, Washington. Mrs. George B. Smith, 408 Melrose avenue, has returned from a vacation in Mount Dora, Fla.

Before an altar decorated with masses of white flowers, Miss Mildred Romedahl, formerly of Iowa City, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Romedahl of Madrid, became the bride of the Rev.

Otto Scott Steele, son of Dr. and Mrs. Otto Scott Steele, of Duluth, September 4 in the Methodist church at Luther. The bridegroom' father performed the double ring ceremony In the presence of friends and relatives. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

She wore a gown of white lace and satin, fashioned with long tapering sleevea, and a lace-paneled skirt which extended into a senior train. Her full-length veil was edged In hand embroidery. She carried a white Bible, topped with roses and stcphanotis, and also carried a lace handkerchief her mother carried at her own wedding. 1 IS Delta Delta Delta social sorority. Until recently she was counselor to students at the Wesley Foundation In Iowa City.

The Rev. Mr. Steele is a eradu- ate of De Pauw university where he was a member of Phi Beta Kap pa, nonorary scnolastic fraternity, and of Gold Key. In May he received his bachelor of sacred theology degree, magna cum laude, from the Boston University School of Theology. He was given the Jacob Sleeper fellowship for graduate study and will continue at Boston, working for doctor of theology degree.

He is now pastor of St. Paul's Methodist church, Lawrence, Mass. After September 1, the couple will be at home at 26 Wyman street, Lawrence. where both will be students at Boston University School of Theology. Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae to Have Tea Yednesday Afternoon Kappa Kappa Gamma alumnae will have a tea Wednesday at 3 pan.

County Queen Will Be Nominated At 4-H Club Meeting Nomination of candidates for county 4-H offices and voting for a county queen is on the agenda of the Cosgrove Hustlers 4-H club in a meeting tonight at 8 o'clock in the Cosgrove hall. Also on the program is a showing of color slide pictures taken at the United States department of agriculture experiment station by County Extension Director Em-mett C. Gardner. Mrs. Jebousek wore a suit of brown gabardine with brown and white accesosries, and a yeUow rose corsage. Immediately following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Kirkpatrick left for a honeymoon trip to the Lake of the Ozarks.

They will be gone a week. After October 15 they will be at home on a farm near Nichols. Mrs. Kirkpatrick, a-graduate of Lone Tree High school, has been employed for three years in the classified advertising department of the Press-Citizen. Mr.

Kirkpat rick was graduated from Nichols High school and served two years in the army, a year and a half overseas. He now is engaged in farming. From Out of Town Out of town relatives at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. C.
